Drabbledark II & More!

This second half of 2018 has been fantastic as far as I’m concerned! I’ve been actively writing and submitting a lot more than I have in the recent past, and it feels exceptionally rewarding on many levels. I feel more creative, happier and mentally fulfilled. There aren’t many things in this world that bring me the same kind of dark joy that storytelling does!

So onto the good news! Today was a glorious day for my Inbox. I received two acceptances, both for anthologies I’m really excited to be a part of! The first was an acceptance for my fairytale retelling of Snow White, called ‘The Poisoned Fruit‘ for a Fairytale Transformations themed anthology by Fantasia Divinity!

I’m super thrilled to have a second short story accepted by Fantasia Divinity, the first being ‘The Eternal Masquerade‘ in their Midnight Masquerade anthology. Check out my Publications Page for details on how to purchase if you’re interested!

One other wonderful point of interest in regards to this upcoming Fairytale Transformations anthology, is that for the second time, I’ll be published along side my dear friend, and fellow Australian author, Pamela Jeffs! We were first featured together in the Mighty Quill Books Dead of Winter anthology! (Details on how to purchase can also be found on my Publications Page!)

And the second was an acceptance for my tiny horror tale called ‘These Precious Moments‘ for Drabbledark II, an anthology of one hundred Dark Speculative drabbles, by Shacklebound Books. A drabble, for those who may not know, is a form of micro fiction, an exercise in extreme brevity; a story of exactly 100 words, no more, no less! Drabbledark II is a sequel project to the anthology Drabbledark.

Without further ado, here is the beautifully dark and perfectly suited cover! What do you think? I think it matches it’s predecessor spot on.

Now, more waiting and more working! I’m hoping to hear back regarding three other short stories I’ve submitted recently, as well as one poem. I also have another two stories to write for submission to anthologies before the end of October! Plus, I’m also taking part in an EPIC opportunity which is due to start before the end of the year… but I’ll save that for my next blog! Wish me luck!

Thanks for reading.

May you feast upon the flesh of your enemies!
