Success after Success!

2019 is proving to be my most prolific year to date! In 2018, I wrote approximately 50,000 words, in total; all short fiction submissions. (Which I was exceedingly proud of!) This year, just so far? It’s not even the end of March, and I’ve totaled 34,000! I have no idea what my total word count will be come the end of the year… but I’m curious to find out!

Want to know where all these words are going to? I’ll tell you, all too happily! I apologise in advance if I waffle on, or alternatively, if this just feels like a blow by blow of all my recent achievements… because that’s what it sort of is!

My three micro fiction pieces (drabbles) that I submitted to Black Hare Press‘s upcoming Sci-Fi anthology Worlds, which is volume one of their Dark Drabbles series, were all accepted! They are: ‘Infected‘, ‘Not Alone‘ and ‘The Honey Trap‘. Also, the anthology recently received a cover revamp, and in my opinion, it’s even better and looks amazing! I’ve very excited to be a part of this promising project!

On the topic of Black Hare Press, I’ve since also submitted three micro fiction tales to their Dark Drabbles #2, “Angels“! I’m crossing my fingers that they’re all accepted! I’d be super stoked to have three stories in each anthology. Ideally, I’d love to have the full five permitted, but I’m balancing so many projects all at once, that I don’t know if I’ll have the time to submit more. I’ll have to wait and see how things unfold over the next month!

If you’re interested in submitting to either of these anthologies, both are currently OPEN! You can visit the Submissions page for further details. I also submitted a drabble to their Online only publication “Dark Moments“, which is similar in nature to The Horror Tree‘s “Trembling With Fear“, but it pays! Hoping to hear back positively on that front, obviously!

Next up! I’ve now had a total of twelve poems accepted by Dragon Soul Press into the poetry anthology “Organic Ink – Volume 1“! They are: The Guilt of Conscience, An Ode to Blood, A Mate for the Dark Soul, The Devil’s Mistress and eight tiny dark Speculative haikus! Check out the beautiful graphic DSP made for me to share and promote the anthology!

If you were at all interested at trying your hand at some poetry, the anthology is still OPEN until March 31st! You can view further Submission details HERE. I feel so fortunate to be included in this anthology. And another very thrilling point of interest is that several of my dear writer friends feature in it, with me! Organic Ink – Volume 1 is due for publication at the end of June, so stay tuned!

And while we’re hanging with Dragon Soul Press, I’d love to announce that my novelette “The Sea Witch’s Apprentice” has been accepted into their “Sea of Secrets” anthology! This beauty clocked in at almost 8k! It’s a dark, re-imagining of the original The Little Mermaid… only nothing like you would expect! What do the Little Mermaid and Julius Caesar have in common? You’ll have to read to find out!

Check out the gorgeous promotional image I have to share around! I’m so thankful I made it into this anthology and I couldn’t be happier! I’m in some fantastic company!

In other news, I recently submitted a short story, at break-neck speed, to Zombie Pirate Publishing, (I believe there was under 24hrs on the clock!) for their upcoming anthology “Full Metal Horror 2“! As well as one for Pixie Forest Publishing‘s new anthology, “At Death’s Door“! If you’re interested in trying your luck submitting to this anthology, it’s still OPEN until the beginning of April! Further information HERE.

And as they say, that’s all for now folks! I have to get onto writing my submission for Dragon Soul Press‘s “Coffins & Dragons” anthology! 5k minimum… wish me luck!

Thanks for reading.
May you feast upon the flesh of your enemies!
