I’m not going to sugar coat this newsletter, dear readers, despite the ridiculously bouncy and absurd song reference I’ve used for a title… All authors, everywhere, are experiencing an enormous downturn in income. As in, we’re surviving off of 1/4 of our usual earnings. It’s diabolical and almost all of us are freaking the fuck out. We’re promoting our work on socials, in our newsletters, collaborating with others authors, some of us are even desperately paying for ads and promotions to reach new readers… but it all seems to be failing. We’re at a loss and I for one don’t know what to do.
Life is chaotic and hard right now, I fully understand and live that reality, too, but if you have an entertainment allowance, or a Kindle Unlimited subscription, please consider checking out some of mine and my friends books. We’re struggling and if things don’t improve, I predict we’re going to lose a lot of the authors we know and love because we just can’t afford to keeping going.
